Target: Mason County Attorney Hon. John Estill
Goal: Convict George Samuel Jones of animal cruelty for starving horses to death
George Samuel Jones, the Mason County, Kentucky farmer who was arrested on 16 counts of failure to dispose of horse carcasses and one count of animal cruelty, has been released from prison and he continues to neglect his animals. This is further evidence that Jones belongs behind bars.
According to WKRC Cincinnati News, Jones now faces 75 different charges and he has been ordered to get rid of all of his livestock by January 13, 2014. In the meantime, Jones has continued to abuse and neglect his animals by not providing them with food or water. Mason County sheriff Patrick Boggs stated, “the order was to make sure they were fed, not that we were to do the feeding. But since Mr. Jones has not been doing the feeding or watering, we have taken it upon ourselves to make sure those animals are fed and watered.” The Mason County police, along with the local Humane Society, are feeding the animals with no help from Jones.
Back in 2010, Jones was charged with 30 counts of animal cruelty, for which he spent 180 days in jail. At that time, investigators found 30 horses and donkeys that were neglected to the point of starvation. Jones did not even provide them with their basic need of water. These latest inhumane acts further prove that Jones belongs behind bars and should be banned from ever owning another living creature.
By signing the petition below, you will encourage Mason County Attorney Hon. John Estill to prosecute George Samuel Jones to the fullest extent of the law.
Dear Hon. John Estill,
I was disturbed to learn that George Samuel Jones has been released from jail only to continue his deadly abuse towards the animals on his farm. On Dec. 30, 2013 investigators found 16 dead horses in various stages of decomposition on Jones’ property. Since his release from prison, he has continued to neglect his animals by not providing them with food or water.
Back in 2010, Jones spent 180 days in jail for multiple animal cruelty charges that stemmed from Jones neglecting and starving 30 horses and donkeys in his care. This man should be banned from ever owning another living creature.
George Samuel Jones clearly did not learn his lesson back in 2010 and 16 horses have paid the price with their lives. Please do everything in your power to see that this cruel and dangerous man is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
