Target: Mason County Attorney Hon. John Estill
Goal: Convict George Samuel Jones of animal cruelty for starving horses to death
George Samuel Jones of Mason County, Kentucky has been arrested on 16 counts of failure to dispose of horse carcasses and one count of animal cruelty, according to The Ledger Independent. This is not the first time that Jones has been charged with animal cruelty; and, the discovery of over a dozen horse carcasses is both gruesome and disturbing. This man belongs behind bars.
Back in 2010, Jones was charged with 30 counts of animal cruelty, for which he spent 180 days in jail. At that time, investigators found 30 horses and donkeys that were neglected to the point of starvation. Jones did not even provide them with their basic need of water.
In a recent article on Cincinnati.com, Mason County Sheriff Patrick Boggs stated that he found dead horses in various stages of decomposition on Jones’ property on Dec. 30, 2013. He also said that he has been called to Jones’ farm regularly on complaints of having his animals “running at large.” George Samuel Jones has proven that he did not take his previous arrest seriously. He has fallen back into his cruel and deadly routine and 16 horses paid the price with their lives. Now it is time for Jones to receive a punishment befitting of his crime.
By signing the petition below, you will encourage Mason County Attorney Hon. John Estill to prosecute George Samuel Jones to the full extent of the law.
Dear Hon. John Estill,
I was disturbed to learn of the Mason County Kentucky man George Samuel Jones’ deadly abuse towards the animals on his farm. On Dec. 30, 2013 investigators found 16 dead horses in various stages of decomposition on Jones’ property. While this is horrific in and of itself, Jones has a long history of animal abuse.
Back in 2010, Jones spent 180 days in jail for multiple animal cruelty charges that stemmed from Jones neglecting and starving 30 horses and donkeys in his care. He did not even provide them with their basic need of water.
George Samuel Jones clearly did not learn his lesson back in 2010 and 16 horses have paid the price with their lives. Please do everything in your power to see that this cruel and dangerous man is prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
