Demand Temple Stop Using Animals in Circus

Target: Danny Huggins, Potentate of Yaarab Shrine

Goal: Remove animal acts from the Yaarab Shrine Circus.

Yaarab Shrine in Georgia is known for hosting the largest of all the Shrine circuses. Unfortunately, it still forces animals to perform. These animals belong in the wild, not in overcrowded arenas.

Animals used in the circus face a variety of mental and physical hardships. They are often taken away from their families in the wild, trapped in small cages for extended periods of time, and go through a grueling training process which typically involves abuse. Bullhooks, electric prods, and whips are common instruments used as painful training tools.

Sign this petition and demand the Yaarab Shrine Circus drop its animal acts. These animals should not be subjected to a miserable life just for the entertainment of humans.

Dear Mr. Huggins,

Your temple annually hosts the largest of all the Shrine circuses. Shriners International claims to be dedicated to “compassion and service to others”; however, forcing animals to perform unnatural tricks in front of large, loud crowds is far from compassionate. It is time to drop the animal acts from your circus.

Animals trapped in the entertainment industry suffer from a variety of mental and physical issues. They are often stolen from the wild and taken away from their families, carted around and trapped in small cages for extended periods of time, and go through a grueling training process that often involves abuse and fear tactics.

These animals are denied everything natural to them all so they can perform meaningless and ridiculous tricks for humans. Please consider dropping animal acts from your circus. These animals deserve so much more than a life trapped in the circus.

  1. Yaarab shriners seem to ignore the fact the Zerbini Circus has multiple citations from the USDA for abuse, care issues, whipping animals, bull hooking elephants, traveling in cramped cages unable to move, etcetera. We have STOPPED all DONATIONS to Shriners. Yaarab Shriners are aware of this cruelty and are obviously condoning animal abuse. They can’t hide from this, the public won’t let this cruelty to continue.

  2. end the cruel animal acts at yaarab shriners circus.

    Leave the circus alone

Shriners again. What is wrong with them?

  5. What terrible stress these wild animals must be experiencing….Breaking an animals wild spirit is not a kind or loving thing to do..Animals are no longer beasts of burden or shackles for our entertainment…today we can understand animals and their needs and thanks to people like David Attenborough we acknowledge their intelligence and their relationship to us, on this magnificent planet..
Life and diversity is an ever fascinating accident we need to expore not exploit, while we still have a planet and can be aware of the importance of life…living being…set them free or rehabilitate them…please

Mr Huggins, You’ll get a little money now, but the younger generations are more aware of animal rights, and that’s the reason you’re not getting any new blood. The Shriners are mostly old men, and the Shrine will die with you if you keep this animal circus thing up. My husband is a Mason but no longer a Shiner, and this is why.
