Ban Bestiality and Animal Sex Trafficking in Nevada

Target: Jason Frierson, Speaker of the Nevada State Assembly

Goal: Pass legislation banning bestiality and sex trafficking of animals in Nevada.

It’s almost too shocking to be true but Nevada is among a small group of U.S. states that does not have a law against bestiality. However, some state lawmakers are seeking to change that with a new piece of proposed legislation making its way through the statehouse.

This bill would bring Nevada in line with most of the country by banning the sexual abuse of animals. Also known as bestiality, animal sexual abuse would be considered a gross misdemeanor under the bill. This might sound light but the misdemeanor would be upgraded to a class C felony in cases where the animal is seriously injured or killed. Felony charges could also be applied in cases where the person involved already has some kind of animal cruelty conviction. Obviously, the bill would also allow for state officials to seize any pets or other animals held by someone found guilty of bestiality. Finally, a guilty verdict would also hit an offender with the cost of care of any abused animals. One other key aspect of the bill is that it would also ban animal sex trafficking.

The main argument against bestiality laws is that they’re a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist. Indeed, it might seem reasonable to assume that bestiality must be extremely rare in the modern day, right? Sadly, that isn’t the case, according to the Humane Society. “Perpetrators use various websites to seek out one another where they often trade, rent, and sell animals for sex,” the Humane Society’s Heather Carpenter told the Reno Gazette-Journal.

“A popular bestiality website has over thousands of registered users from all areas of the state. In the last two weeks alone, there have been two dozen posts on the Nevada Craigslist page from owners offering their dogs for sex with strangers or people seeking animals for sex,” Carpenter said.

If you agree that bestiality should be outlawed in Nevada, then help us send a message to lawmakers demanding that they support this proposed bill.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Speaker Frierson,

The Nevada State Assembly is currently considering a bill that would finally make bestiality illegal in the state of Nevada. Many Nevada locals might be surprised to learn their state has no laws against bestiality. This proposed bill would change that and finally put serious penalties on people who sexually abuse animals.

Bestiality may seem like a problem that couldn’t possibly exist in the modern age. Unfortunately this is far from true. The Humane Society has warned that bestiality websites have thousands of registered users, including many who appear to be from Nevada.

Moreover, bestiality isn’t just a threat to animals. Animal rights groups like the Humane Society argue bestiality is closely linked to pedophilia. Therefore, the common idea that bestiality is a thing of the past simply isn’t accurate. This is a problem for our entire society, and the start of the solution in Nevada is through this bill. We urge you and your colleagues to endorse this bill to stop bestiality and animal sex trafficking in Nevada.

Sincerely,

  1. Borden Davis says:

Sometimes we have to wait for nature to go to work. Over a period of time nature will not allow anyone to abuse it. Sooner of later you pay. So many mentally ill people in the world. Those that do those sick actions can’t handle a normal situation they have to take advantage of the weak. They are so weak themselves they have to be in control. They try to take control of any situation. Sooner or later nature will normalize the situation. It might be tomorrow or in the new future It works on the body and brain. The sooner the better.

  2. These people are the same deviants that do all kinds of abusive sexual acts to people! They are pure EVIL. There needs to be consequences to Abuse to animals. ANIMALS ARE USUALLY THE STEPPING STONE TO HUMAN TORTURE. I’m glad to help to put these criminals in jail and be branded the deviants that they are.

  3. GO GO NEVADA! Stop bestiality now, it is degrading of humans to mistreat animals let alone rape them! Protect animals & children from abusive people, have good strong laws in place please!
