Justice for Dog Reportedly Tied to a Cinderblock and Drowned

Target: Marilyn Mosby, State’s Attorney for Baltimore, Maryland

Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for the man who allegedly tied a dog to a cinderblock and left it in a reservoir, leading to its death.

A dog drowned after it was reportedly tied to a cinderblock and left in a reservoir. The dog belonged to the suspect’s ex-girlfriend, who expressed concern for its safety in his hands. Demand justice for this innocent dog.

Animal Control officers arrived at Maryland’s Liberty Reservoir to find the body of a dead dog floating in the water. The dog was reportedly tied to the cinderblock with a leash and had an electrical cord around its neck. Microchip information showed that the dog had been adopted from the Humane Society of Carroll County by Anthony Michael Muniz. Muniz’s ex-girlfriend tried to claim the dog after its adoption and told officers that she was “concerned for the dog’s safety.”

Muniz was charged with one felony count of animal cruelty, one misdemeanor charge of reckless endangerment, and six other misdemeanor charges related to animal cruelty or abandonment. Sign below and demand that Muniz receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

Dear State’s Attorney Mosby,

A dog was reportedly tied to a cinderblock and left in a reservoir to drown. The dog belonged to the suspect’s ex-girlfriend, who feared for the dog’s safety. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

Records showed that Muniz brought the dog into the Humane Society, claiming that it was a stray. He later returned to adopt the dog. Animal Control and the Baltimore Environmental Police have launched a joint investigation into Muniz after he reportedly left the state following the dog’s death.

This horrific crime cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Can we now see charges against the Humane Society of Carroll County for being negligent in allowing the monster who murdered this dog to adopt it in the first place?
