Target: Matthew Bershadker, President & CEO of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
Goal: Find and charge the spring breakers who abused sea creatures with alcohol and shared it on social media.
Videos have surfaced showing college students on spring break drunkenly abusing animals on the beach. Urge the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to find these disgusting animal abusers and charge them with animal cruelty.
Total Frat Move, a male interest website devoted to college Greek life, posted various videos on one of its Instagram accounts showing spring breakers committing animal abuse. One video shows a man using a beached shark with a fishing line and hook in its mouth to open a beer as the man’s friend holds open the shark’s jaws.
Another video shows a man floating in the ocean while holding a starfish, then pouring his drink down the starfish and drinking out of the animal. Yet another video shows a man holding on to a struggling seagull while parading the animal around on the beach and then inside a building as the bird screeches.
It’s sickening that these people not only abused innocent wildlife, but tried to glorify it by posting videos of it online. These spring breakers are laughing as animals are in pain and suffering for absolutely no good reason. These people must be held accountable. Urge ASPCA to find these abusers and charge them with animal cruelty and any other additional crimes that they can.
Dear Mr. Bershadker,
Videos posted on an Instagram account run by a popular site for fraternities show spring breakers committing horrifying animal abuse while partying drunk on the beach. A shark, a seagull and a starfish are among the known victims who were grabbed, injured and had alcohol poured on them.
This kind of behavior must not be celebrated and encouraged on social media and instead must be punished. I urge you to find the perpetrators and punish them to the full extent of the law.
