Target: Donald Trump, President of the United States
Goal: Overturn resolution that allows hunters to kill defenseless, hibernating animals.
Due to the U.S. Senate’s recent overturning of certain U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regulations, hunters will be allowed to kill hibernating bear and wolf families in their dens, shoot wildlife from planes, use steel-jaw leg-hold traps and wire snares, and use food to lure grizzly bears close to shoot them at point-blank range. On 76 million acres of federal wildlife refuge in Alaska, countless animals are in danger from these practices and it is time to speak up for these innocent animals.
The unregulated killing of predators is not only inhumane, it could also wreak havoc on delicate ecosystems. This issue is not merely a political one, but an ethical one. Sign this petition and demand the president overturn this bill.
Dear Mr. President,
Recently, the U.S. Senate voted in favor of S.J.Res.18 which allows barbaric hunting practices on 76 million acres of federal wildlife refuge in Alaska. Countless innocent animals are now in danger of cruel and unfair hunting practices.
Hunters are now allowed to enter bear and wolf dens during hibernation to kill the mother and her babies, shoot wildlife from planes, use steel-jaw leg-hold traps and wire snares, and use food to lure grizzly bears close to shoot them at point-blank range. Hunters claim the fun is in the chase, but all of these practices take advantage of vulnerable animals. The unregulated killing of predators is inhumane and could wreak havoc on delicate ecosystems.
Please consider overturning S.J.Res.18. These hunting practices are incredibly cruel, barbaric, and unethical. Wildlife must be defended, not ruthlessly killed off.
