Man Accused of Keeping Nearly 100 Animals in Filth–Demand Justice

Target: Patrine Clohessy, Assistant Crown Solicitor, Queensland, Australia

Goal: Seek the maximum punishment under the law for a man facing 215 charges of animal cruelty.

An Australian man is facing a rash of animal cruelty charges after investigators found over 80 dogs and 10 cats living in conditions that shook them to the core. Haris Ljuhar is facing 215 counts of animal cruelty, the most ever brought against one person by the Australian Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). The animals were allegedly malnourished and kept in filthy conditions, surrounded by feces and the corpses of other animals.

Eighty-one dogs and puppies, mostly American Stafforshire Bull Terriers, were removed from the home alongside 10 cats. Many of the animals were starved to the point of malnutrition and visible emaciation, per reports. Some were kept in small spaces next to the corpses of other animals, and others were reportedly tethered among piles decomposing animals. Some of the animals also reportedly suffered severe injuries that required veterinary intervention. Unsurprisingly, it seems the animals were left to suffer without any medical attention.

According to RSPCA Queensland Chief Inspector Daniel Young, “the conditions the dogs and cats were being kept in were very disturbing.” He also alleges in the investigation that the animals were left without adequate food, water, or shelter. More than 50 of the animals have so far been successfully rehabilitated and adopted. The RSPCA spent in excess of $100,000 to provide much-needed medical care, housing, and rehabilitation for the rescued animals.

This type of abuse is extremely troubling as it apparently shows a blatant disregard for the suffering of so many animals. In order to ensure that these creatures receive justice, it’s imperative that anyone found responsible is punished harshly. Sign the petition below to ask the prosecutor to seek the maximum possible punishment under law for Ljuhar, if he is found guilty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mrs. Clohessy,

A Queensland man is facing 215 charges of animal cruelty for the alleged severe neglect of over 80 dogs and 10 cats. The dogs were reportedly found malnourished, suffering from severe injuries, and being forced to live among the decomposing corpses of other animals.

This type of neglect is barbaric and inexcusable. In order to ensure no more animals are harmed by this man, it’s important that he is punished harshly. We, the undersigned, ask you to seek the maximum possible punishment for this man as well as a lifetime ban on animal ownership.

Sincerely,

  1. What we really need is some serious bad ass vigilante serial killers going after people who really need to be the victims of homicide. I am sorry if my comments offend any animal lover out there, but I truly want them tortured at least for how they tortured the animals. They deserve it. Poor animals😟😭😵😩😖😥😪😡😡😠💔

There’s no way your idea could offend an animal lover, it sounds like a great idea to me. What I would want is for them to first suffer EXACTLY like the animals did- especially living in their own feces. I won’t go into detail here you can fill in your own blanks… but don’t feed them for a LONG time. Then after they have suffered in misery the serial killer with a heart for animals can do his job- as sloppy and painfully as possible.
I HORRIBLY despise the wastes of oxygen scumbags who torture and kill the loving and totally innocent precious animals and anything else these sad things are done to also.
I feel the exact same way about the ones who use animals to do tests on in labs and in colleges- and this includes the military that does such horrendous God awful things.
People suck- while animals are innocent victims. I’ve begged and prayed for them not to suffer my whole life- but sadly it hasn’t accomplished a single thing.

Jane, I have said this many times except I feel like being the badass vigilante along with others who feel the same way. It seems the only way to get justice and to get the message out there-screw with the animals and you WILL be screwed!

  2. OMG………….WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH PEOPLE TODAY?? THIS monster must be severely punished. MAKE AN EXAMPLE OF HIM….JAIL HIM FOR 2-3 YEARS, FINE HIM A HUGE AMOUNT(PLUS MAKE HIM PAY ALL VET AND BOARDING COSTS FOR ALL THE ANIMALS) BAN HIM FROM EVER HAVING OR BEING AROUND ANY ANIMAL.

RIP ALL THE ANIMALS THAT DIED IN SUCH HORRIFIC AND PAINFUL WAY AND MAY YOU GET JUSTICE FOR YOUR DEATHS.
I ALSO HOPE THAT THE REST OF THE ANIMALS FIND WONDERFUL AND LOVING NEW HOMES………………..

  3. Marjorie Coey says:

Seize the assets of the person and use them to pay the bills for rescuing/restoring these animals to health.

Send the right message here…don’t do these types of things or you will lose your assets and don’t allow them to own any creature ever again!

  4. Rosie Boyd Rosie Boyd says:

For feck sake! Will the authorities PLEASE bring back the death sentence so that subhuman pieces of shit like Haris Ljuhar can never, ever do anything like this again. I just hope the sick fecker hasn’t got kids, think of the state they’d be in!!

  5. Linda Hilty-Tuttle says:

    Agree with ALL previous comments!

  6. TOO BAD THE SON OF A BITCH WASN’T ATTACKED BY ALL THE DOGS, THEY SHOULD HAVE TORE HIM TO PIECES!

  7. Lisa Zarafonetis Lisa Zarafonetis says:

    WTF❗😳
    Signed & shared❗😠

  8. If people can treat helpless creatures this way, they will treat children this way. Someone who can see animals suffer and do nothing has no empathy. They will abuse a child or another person just as easily. Let the punishment fit the crime.

  9. Karen Tipping says:

Despicable scum should not go unpunished

  10. Dalma Bugg says:

I have only four words. Life sentence, solitary confinement.
