Target: Lyle Martin, Police Chief of Bakersfield, California
Goal: Punish neighbor for allegedly shooting innocent family dog, if guilty.
A family’s harmless dog was allegedly shot by a neighbor for wandering into his yard. One of the owner’s children was innocently playing with the 2-year-old poodle when the dog took off down the road. The family stated that the poodle, named Jaxson, posed no threat whatsoever to anyone, yet the neighbor shot him in the lower back with a pellet gun. The child took off after her dog only to find the poor animal bleeding.
The neighbor admitted to shooting poor Jaxson with a pellet gun, but the family says police wouldn’t take action against him because there was no eyewitness. According to reports, the only thing police did was remove the pellet gun from the shooter. If the man admitted to shooting the dog, it seems the need for an eyewitness would be irrelevant. Dear Mr. Martin,
A harmless dog reportedly wandered into a neighbor’s yard and was shot with a pellet gun. The dog, a 2-year-old poodle, was a family pet that posed no threat to the shooter. The family is upset because no animal cruelty charges were filed to bring their innocent pet justice.
The family says that the police refused to do anything, despite the neighbor’s admission to the shooting, just because there was no eyewitness. We urge you to take appropriate action against and see to it that this man who reportedly admitted to shooting the poor dog faces animal cruelty charges.
