Target: Patrick J. Griffin, State’s Attorney for East Haven, Connecticut
Goal: Demand that the man who allegedly abandoned a dog next to a dumpster in below freezing temperatures face the maximum penalty if found guilty.
A dog was reportedly abandoned next to a dumpster. Per reports, he only had a wet blanket and a bottomless wire crate as protection against the elements. Demand that justice is served for this innocent dog.
“This poor dog was dumped beside trash cans like a piece of garbage and left to starve or freeze to death,” stated PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien. When animal control officers arrived to rescue the pit bull, the temperature outside was only 10 degrees Fahrenheit. The dog was reportedly underweight and had no access to food or water.
The East Haven Police Department charged Michael Giano with cruelty to animals, failure to vaccinate, and failure to comply with ownership requirements. The dog is residing at a local shelter and undergoing intensive rehabilitation. Sign below and demand that Giano receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.
Dear State’s Attorney Griffin,
A pit bull was allegedly abandoned beside a dumpster in below freezing temperatures. He reportedly had no protection against the elements. We demand that justice is served for this innocent dog.
The poor dog apparently only had a wet blanket for warmth. A Facebook post created by East Haven Animal Control officers led to the arrest of Giano. Per reports, Giano admitted to abandoning the dog. If Giano had taken the dog to the animal shelter or police department, then they would have accepted the dog without question.
This poor dog suffered needlessly and could have died. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
