Target: Judge Leah Case, Seventh Circuit Court, Florida
Goal: Praise sentence for man who violated and mistreated an eight-month-old pit bull
A man who sodomized an eight-month-old dog was recently sentenced to five years in prison. James Guy Bull, 62, pled guilty to two counts of felony animal cruelty, and two more misdemeanor charges of cruelty to animals and engaging in sexual activities involving animals. Bull will serve a five-year sentence in a Florida state prison for what the presiding judge called “systematic and chronic abuse.”
Investigations began after neighbors reported seeing Bull fondling the dog’s genitals despite protesting yelps and whines from the puppy, named Coco. Upon further investigation, the same neighbor saw Bull having sex with the dog. When police arrived, they found a skittish and emaciated dog chained to a pole on the porch without food or water. The dog’s chain allowed it to move less than a foot in either direction, and veterinary staff found signs of abuse and neglect upon the dog’s removal.
Fortunately, the dog is now in the hands of a New York City rescue organization where she received medical attention. The dog, now named Rose to signify a new beginning, will recover in the hands of foster care workers at the rescue.
Dogs are loyal and loving creatures by nature, and can be permanently changed by abuse. Because animal abuse can be a precursor to violent crimes against humans as well, it is imperative that barbaric cruelty of this nature is met with an appropriate punishment. Your signature will thank the Honorable Leah Case for bringing justice to Rose by prosecuting her attacker.
Dear Judge Case,
A 62-year-old man was recently sentenced to five years in prison after he pled guilty to charges of cruelty to animals and sexual abuse of an animal. Neighbors reported James Guy Bull fondling and sodomizing his eight-month-old pit bull puppy before police found the dog emaciated and neglected on Bull’s porch. The dog was found chained to a pole unable to move more than a foot, without food or water.
After the dog was seized, it was taken to a veterinarian who noted signs of abuse upon examination. Fortunately, the dog will be able to recover at a New York animal protection organization. Bull will now serve five years in a state prison for his violent crimes. We, the undersigned, thank you for bringing this brutal offender to justice.
