Stop Using Animals as Live Props for Entertainment

Target: Kelly Stroman, Executive Director of Manhattan Beach Business & Professionals Association

Goal: Stop using live animals at Manhattan Beach Business & Professionals Association’s events.

Recently, the Manhattan Beach Business & Professionals Association held an event in which live reindeer were reportedly used as props. Animals used for entertainment face physical and mental hardships daily. The company was informed of the horrors these animals face, but this knowledge hasn’t stopped them from planning on using animals again.

Animal held in the entertainment industry are denied everything that is natural to them. They are often held in small cages and carted around from city to city. They are often used for shows and are surrounded by large, loud crowds which causes extreme stress and discomfort.

Sign this petition and demand Manhattan Beach Business & Professionals Association stop using live animals at events. These animals should not be exploited for human entertainment.

Dear Ms. Stroman,

Recently, your company held a party and used live reindeer as props. Animals are not objects and should not be treated as such. It is cruel and irresponsible to continue using live animals at events and I’m hoping you stop this inhumane practice.

Animals held in the entertainment industry are denied everything natural to them. They are not allowed to look for a mate, reproduce, or run free. Instead, these animals are often confined in small cages and carted around from city to city. They are often thrown into incredibly stressful and uncomfortable situations where they are surrounded by large, loud crowds.

This is not the life nature intended for these animals. Every day they endure mental and physical hardships all for a few moments of human entertainment. No animal should be exploited for this and I’m hoping you agree. Please consider no longer using live animals at your events.

  1. “So many people insist they are against animal abuse, cruelty, suffering and the inhumane treatment of animals, yet they don’t understand they are actively engaging in and supporting egregious suffering, abuse, cruelty and inhumane treatment when they eat animals and their ‘by-products.’ If you are against cruelty, suffering and inhumane treatment, then you go vegan. It’s just that simple.” – Sarah Kiser

“The only difference between a dog, cat, horse and dolphin and a cow, chicken, pig and turkey is perception. One is no more valuable than another. And yet in this culture, we hold the former animals in high esteem and the latter we brutalize for food. All animals are deserving of respect and freedom from violence. The way to respect others is veganism.”

  2. If these idiots want entertainment, use something other than innocent animals. These poor animals suffer enough, leave them alone.

  3. Inconsiderate humans, why don’t they put themselves in the same situation. Stop torturing these innocent animals Assholes!

Animals are not för fun! !!! Let them live a life they are uselt for??????????????????

  5. Where did the reindeer come from and what happens to them after the “entertainment”? This association should be outed for animal cruelty and put out of business like Ringling Bros. The only way to reach such people is through their pocketbooks; rational appeals to their humanity won’t work because they are inhuman.
