Justice for Dog Allegedly Neglected and Allowed to Suffer Needlessly

Target: Anthony D. Gulluni, District Attorney for Hampden County, Massachusetts

Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for the man and woman who allegedly neglected their dog’s progressive illness, allowing her to suffer needlessly.

A dog was brought into an animal shelter sick and emaciated. She had reportedly suffered for months before her owners surrendered her. Demand justice for this innocent dog.

Bella was in such poor condition when Ronnie and Sarah Crapps brought her into the Dakin Humane Society’s shelter that shelter officials assumed she was there to be euthanized. Instead, her owners reportedly denied knowledge of Bella’s health problems and said that they could no longer take care of her. Bella suffered from chronic infections of her skin, ears, urinary tract and mammary glands. She was emaciated and unable to walk.

Bella remained at the shelter for veterinary care and is improving. Ronnie and Sarah Crapps were each charged with animal cruelty. Sign below and demand that they receive the maximum penalty by law, if convicted.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Gulluni,

A dog nearly died after her serious illnesses were allegedly left untreated for months. Her owners reportedly denied knowledge of her maladies. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

When a veterinarian first saw Bella, she was appalled by the dog’s physical condition. The pit bull terrier’s ribs showed through her skin and she could not walk on her own. She suffered from a fever caused by multiple untreated infections. Though her owners reportedly claimed that she was elderly, it is estimated that Bella is only 2 years old.

This poor dog suffered due to her owners’ alleged neglect. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

  1. Well their last name says it all.

  2. Is a petition really needed when they’re already being charged and investigated? I feel bad for the dog but if justice is already taking care of it and punishing them why do I have to fill out a petition? What are we complaining about if they’re already doing what we want them to?

Justice is rarely ever done in the cases of animal abuse, and their punishment is either nothing or a slap on the wrist. This petition is formed in the hopes that the authorities will take it seriously and deliver a more deserving punishment than otherwise given. Animals have zero voice, so we are their only hope.

  3. This is horrible but I also wouldn’t want to discourage anyone from bringing their suffering pet to a vet. Some people are seriously incredibly ignorant with regard to how to treat other species —-

We should obviously treat them as we would ourselves, but some people are brought up thinking animals are (something like machines). That’s not an excuse either, people should be able to recognize the same suffering & respond to it…..

An eye for an eye the saying goes.

I’m all for people being able to drop their pets off when they can no longer take care of them personally or because of Financial hardship.
