Save Bald Eagle Habitat from Destruction

Target: President Barack Obama and Congress

Goal: Protect Fones Cliff, a nationally important habitat for bald eagles, from being destroyed by real estate development

Fones Cliff is a natural geologic formation that runs along the east of the Rappahannock River in Virginia. The cliff is a distinctive white color and can be seen from miles away. Fones Cliff has an abundance of natural resources and is located in an Important Bird Area of global significance. However, the one thing everyone notices about the cliff is that it is home to hundreds of bald eagles. Fones Cliff should be nationally recognized as one of the main settlements of bald eagles on the East Coast. Unfortunately, the area is being threatened by real estate development projects and proposed strip mines.

Not only has Fones Cliff become important to the survival of the bald eagle, it is also a resting area for many other species as well. Not only do the eagles settle there, they also go there to rest after their migratory flights. Habitat destruction will eventually lead to the deaths of bald eagles and other species of birds. Please help preserve the bald eagles of Fones Cliff and their home.

The bald eagle is our national symbol for freedom, and we need to think twice about destroying one of their main habitats. America must fight back and tell Congress and the President that we need to preserve a healthy ecosystem and the wild life that depends on it. Sign this petition and encourage federal officials to save this bald eagle habitat.

Dear President Barack Obama and Congress,

The bald eagle has always been a symbol of freedom and strength for the United States of America. Unfortunately, one of the species’ main habitats in the United States is now being threatened. Fones Cliff is located only 75 miles out from Washington DC, and is nationally recognized as having one of the highest concentrations of bald eagles. The eagles will have to find a new place to settle if Fones Cliff is overrun by real estate development and strip mines.

As the leaders of the United States, please help preserve the bald eagle’s home. Don’t let people tear down important habitat that has supported bald eagle populations for centuries.

OMG! This shouldn’t even be an issue. Its our duty and obligation as without our interference neither the Bald Eagle nor many other species would be facing hunger, lack of habitat, extinction. We caused these issues, we need to resolve them.
