Praise Military for Sparing Animals’ Lives

Target: James Mattis, U.S. Secretary of Defense

Goal: Praise U.S. Department of Defense for ending the use of goats and pigs in career advancement training.

Thanks to animal rights activists, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Congress, and many concerned citizens, the U.S. Department of Defense has ended the use of goats and pigs for career advancement training. This will spare countless animals from unnecessary torture, pain and death.

Thanks to modern technology, the military will now be able to use human simulators. Not only are the simulators the compassionate choice, but they are also more effective and economical than using animals. This is just another step the military has taken to lessen the suffering of animals, and hopefully it will not be the last. Sign this petition and thank the military for choosing an ethical alternative, thereby sparing the lives of countless pigs and goats.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Secretary,

The U.S. Department of Defense recently made the compassionate decision to end its use of goats and pigs in career advancement training. This is great news for the animals, and the many concerned citizens fighting for animal welfare.

Thanks to modern technology, the military will now utilize human simulators which are not only more ethical, but also more economical and effective for learning purposes.

Thank you for taking another step towards ending the use of animals in military training. I can only hope more steps like this will be taken, until human simulators are used for every aspect of training.

Sincerely,

Thank you sooo much! This has been a long time coming.

  2. Linda Amundson says:

This is good. However, I don’t imagine this translates to ending the torture of goats for trauma training at Fort Sam Houston under Brig. General Heather-something (forgot her last name) that plans to initiate this torture soon. There are excellent alternatives yet this cruelty persists. It should be ALL parts of the military that stop this cruelty crap. I will NEVER support any of our military that causes harm to nonhuman animals. NEVER. No excuse for it anymore these days.

  3. Cecily Colloby says:

I’m certainly NOT praising these scumbags for stopping torturing animals!! They should never have been doing so in the first place and my praise goes to those who spent
years petitioning them to stop, which they probably did very reluctantly. No praise from me.

  4. Carol Brandt says:

I thank the men and women in our armed services who protect us, and have sacrificed themselves. Now there will not be the sacrifice of animals for no good, effective reason. But now I am troubled by what the other person posted above, and I hope the practice of giving goats traumatic injuries is looked into. 🙁

  5. Rosslyn Osborne says:

I’m not thanking these idiots for halting the heinous cruelty and loss of innocent lives of animals.
The stupidity of terrifying animals then jumping on them stabbing them repeatedly, slitting their throats, kicking in rib cages?
Whoever started this should be locked up and the keys tossed away! Don’t allow them to utilise any animals for their war games.
Thank you sincerely to all of those who have like me petitioned to have this stopped many years ago.

  6. NEVER MIND PRAISING THE MILITARY FOR NOW NOT USING PIGS OR GOATS FOR SCIENTIFIC REASONS….I CONDEMN THEM FOR USING THESE ANIMALS IN HORRIFIC CRUELTY FOR ALL THESE YEARS, I HOPE THOSE THAT DID THIS SUFFER THEMSELVES, AS THEY HAVE DONE TO THESE DEFENCELESS ANIMALS ALL THESE YEARS, THESE POOR ANIMALS HAVE SUFFERED HEINOUS BARBARIC TORTURE….MAKE SURE THE REMAINING ANIMALS ARE TAKEN FROM THIS CONCENTRATION CAMP AND WILL BE PLACED IN A SANCTUARY WHERE THEY CAN LIVE OUT THEIR LIVES.

  7. well, thank you, it sure took youlong enough to see the light…..I hope they don’t sneak something in the back door just cuz they think we are appeased, we aren’t dummies, I’d love to bring my 300lb pig Cedric to meet you decision makers, one sigh as he flops over for his tummy rub and conversation and you’d be shamed on the spot.

  8. It’s about frigging time, there “ain’t” no being sweet about it, it took them WAY too long.
