Charlestown police investigated a mobile home after they received reports that it contained extremely malnourished dogs. Inside, they found a horrific scene. Feces and trash covered the floor and the dogs were so thin that their rib cages showed. It smelled strongly of feces. The owner’s family members had attempted to feed the dogs earlier that day, but found no food or water inside.
Amber Davis, the dogs’ reported owner, has been charged with five counts of animal cruelty. She could face up to five years in jail. The dogs were transported to a shelter for treatment. Demand that the maximum penalty is assigned in this case.
Dear Prosecuting Attorney Mull,
Five dogs were found extremely malnourished and living in filth. Their owner reportedly abandoned them in a mobile home two weeks earlier with no access to food or water. We demand that justice is served for these innocent dogs.
When the owner’s family arrived at the mobile home, they found a disturbing scene. The five dogs appeared thin and frail. One of the dogs vomited immediately after it was given food. Another fell to the ground because it was too weak to stand or walk. Per the landlord, the dogs’ owner had been kicked out of the mobile home two weeks earlier.
This horrific neglect cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
