Target: Greg Newman, District Attorney for Columbus, North Carolina
Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for the EMS worker who allegedly skinned and decapitated a dead dog.
A dog was reportedly run over by an EMS worker, who then allegedly skinned and decapitated the dog’s dead body. Photos of the mutilated dog were allegedly sent to his family shortly after they reported him missing. Demand justice for this innocent dog.
After Goliath went missing, his family immediately turned to social media for help. Instead, they reportedly received a photo of the Shiloh Shepherd dead and mutilated on the back of a truck. Michael Purdy, an EMS worker, reportedly sent the photo after he skinned and decapitated the dog’s already dead body. The dog reportedly died shortly after Purdy ran him over with an ambulance.
Purdy has been charged with two counts of resist, obstruct and delay. He was not charged with the alleged mutilation because there are currently no laws in North Carolina relating to the treatment of a dead animal. Purdy also lost his job after he allegedly lied to officials about the incident. Sign below to demand the maximum penalty in this case.
Dear District Attorney Newman,
A dog was reportedly run over, skinned, and decapitated. A photo of the mutilated dog was sent to his distraught family. Demand justice for this innocent dog.
Per law enforcement, Purdy picked up Goliath after he ran him over with the ambulance. He then reportedly brought Goliath to St. Lukes Hospital, where he showed him off and claimed that he was a wolf. Later, he reportedly skinned and decapitated Goliath.
Though there is no official charge in North Carolina for the mutilation of a dead animal, justice must be served. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
