Target: Veterinarian Dr. Brenda Gough and husband
Goal: Thank Canadian couple for saving Shrek the dog and 12 other dogs from a puppy mill
Veterinarian Dr. Brenda Gough and her husband recently found a malti-poo dog, named Shrek, on their Ontario family farm. Shrek was in bad condition – not only was he injured with open sores and cuts, he was also covered in extremely matted fur and dirt. Gough’s husband admitted that when he first found Shrek on the farm, he thought he was an old carpet. Shrek was so afraid and his hair was so heavy that he could barely even walk.
Dr. Gough immediately brought Shrek to the veterinarian clinic where she works. The vet was able to remove almost 4 lbs of hair from his body. After three days, he was in much better shape. It is believed that he ran away from a puppy mill nearby where he was living with twelve other dogs. Animal welfare officials also believe that he spent most of his life in a cage and in barbaric conditions. After they found Shrek, the other puppies were able to be rescued too. If it wasn’t for Dr. Brenda and her husband’s efforts in helping Shrek, these puppies would still be stuck in the horrendous conditions in an illegal puppy mill.
Sign this petition to thank Dr. Brenda Gough and her husband for helping Shrek the dog, and the twelve puppies from the puppy mill.
Dear Dr. Brenda Gough and husband,
Thank you for saving Shrek the dog. It is amazing and fortunate that Shrek ended up on your Ontario family farm. If he had not ended on your farm, then who knows where he would be now or if he would have even survived at all. Because of your generosity and caring nature, twelve other dogs were able to be rescued from the puppy farm that Shrek was living on.
The attention that this story received over news and social media outlets brought great awareness toward the illegal puppy farms. There are so many animals that are abused and neglected because they come from these types of farms and mills. They are being treated horribly and need to be rescued. Thank you for being so vigilant and loving, because now this puppy has a new home and a new life.
