Target: Daniel M. Ashe, Director of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Goal: Save the wild jaguar from near-extinction.
The population of wild jaguars is in a steep decline, with roughly 15,000 left on this planet and only two in the United States. Not only are these wild cats hunted for sport and for their fur, but the rapid development of farms, mines, residential areas and highways are robbing them of their natural habitat as well as blocking their migration routes. While 15,000 may seem like a large number to everyday people, for these animals it is far too small and is decreasing day by day.
We cannot let these beautiful wild cats go extinct. They are almost completely gone from America, and if we continue to let their numbers dwindle, they will be completely gone from this world. These majestic animals do not deserve to have their homes and their lives taken from them as a result of human greed and short-sightedness. We must not only demand a full ban on the hunting of the wild jaguar, but take bigger steps to protect their habitat and migration routes.
Time is running out for the wild jaguar. Sign this petition to stop hunters from snuffing out their lives and developers from destroying their homes.
Dear Director Ashe,
Wild jaguars are rapidly coming closer and closer to extinction. Their numbers are dwindling more every day, and there are only two left in the United States. Hunters kill them for sport or for their fur, and developers are robbing them of their natural habitat in order to build houses, roads and farms.
We cannot let the wild jaguar leave this world forever. They are beautiful and majestic creatures, and we must do all we can to protect them. You must do everything in your power to illegalize the poaching of jaguars and to demand developers stop destroying their habitat, as well as blocking their migration paths. Please make this planet safer for the wild jaguar before it is too late.
