Justice for Dog Frozen to Death in Doghouse

Target: Honorable John W. Carney, District Attorney for Montgomery County, Tennessee

Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for the person who left their dog in a doghouse in freezing temperatures, leading to its death.

A dog was found frozen to death, its body stuck to the inside of a plastic doghouse. The doghouse was left outside of a vacant business for an unknown amount of time. Demand justice for this innocent dog.

“I had to peel the blanket off the dog because it was actually frozen to the dog,” stated Jessica Cook, a Montgomery County Animal Control officer. She found the dog around 8:30 a.m., when the temperature was in the single digits. The dog suffered bruising and discoloration. A necropsy could not be conducted because the tissue was too damaged from the cold.

Officers with Montgomery County Animal Care & Control are searching for the person who abandoned the dog. They do not have any suspects yet. Sign below and demand the maximum in this case.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Carney,

A dog was found frozen to death in a plastic doghouse. The doghouse was left outside of a vacant business in freezing temperatures. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

“There’s no excuse for it, if the dog was sick, the owner could’ve called animal control, we would’ve gladly euthanized the dog,” stated Jeanette Farrell, Montgomery County Animal Care & Control Director. It is unknown how long the dog was exposed to the cold, but the temperatures were only in the single digits when it was found.

This disturbing cruelty cannot go unpunished. We demand that the person responsible receive the maximum penalty by law.

Sincerely,

  1. This is totally infuriating, that poor little fellas death was so uneccesary. Do they know who the culprit is. This neglect would be considered a felony in most states. In MA there is a new law that protects animals such as this one, one would need to call the MSPCA if they witness anything such as this in MA. This is a blasphemy!

  2. QUÉ DESGRACIA!!!! QUÉ GENTE TAN COBARDE Y VIL QUE HACEN UN MUNDO QUE PUEDE SER EXTRAORDINARIO, UN MUNDO MISERABLE!!! POR QUÉ??? DESGRACIADOS!!!!!!!

There is only one thing I would do to this creep. Put him outside and let him freeze to death like the dog did. How cruel can a person be. If a person is freezing cold outside then the animal is feeling the same cold. This person must be banned from ever having animals. I am asking that he is charged with the highest degree felony allowed. The new rules allow charges of top level felonies for people who abuse or neglect animals, especially if it causes the death of the animal. He deserves no less. I think 10 years or more would be appropriate for this heartless coward.

  4. I hate to say this and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of smack from people but WTF Tennessee? I see an awful lot of animal abuse/and cruelty going on in your state!! The good people of Tennessee need to step up and do something about all that bullshit before you don’t have any animals left!! My response for the assholes who could leave their poor and obviously ABUSED AND TORTURED dog need to get whacked!! Sorry,(no I’m not) but true!!

Why did they say that they “would’ve gladly euthanised the dog”? Euthanasia isn’t something to be glad about. I hope that they would have only done it for the dog’s sake, and that they wouldn’t have been smiling and laughing about it. Smiling and laughing are both good in appropriate times, situations and places…
    Best of luck.
