Target: Tomilsav Tolusic, Head of Ministry of Agriculture of Croatia
Goal: Thank Croatia for sticking to its word and banning all fur farms as of 2017.
In 2007, Croatia agreed on a ban on breeding animals for fur and a ten year phase out period of fur farms. Chinchillas are the only animals kept on fur farms in Croatia and the Association of Croatian Breeders of Chinchillas has been working vigilantly to stop the ban. Thankfully, the Croatian government has listened to the concerns of the public and recognizes the torture animals on fur farms face. The ban went into effect on the first day of the new year.
Now countless chinchillas will be spared from unnecessary cruelty and death. This is a great victory for animals and serves as an inspiration to free the animals trapped in the small cages of the fur industry. Hopefully more countries will follow suit and innocent animals will no longer be forced to endure the pain and torture of the fur industry.
Sign this petition and thank Croatia for sticking to their word despite all the push-back they faced.
Dear Mr. Tolusic,
Despite all the resistance your government has met, Croatia officially became fur-free as of January 1, 2017. The last of the chinchilla fur farms have been shut down and myself and the animals could not be happier.
Now countless chinchillas will not be forced into small cages without food or water, nor will they be tortured and killed for their fur. Instead, these animals can live a peaceful, happy life.
Thank you for all the hard work you have put into this project and your dedication to making Croatia a fur-free country. It is inspiring to see and I can only hope more countries follow in your footsteps.
