Target: Steven Kavanagh, Chief Constable of the Essex Police
Goal: Demand justice for a cat that was abandoned after being wrapped in caution tape that covered his mouth, nose and eyes.
A poor tomcat was discovered covered in black and yellow caution tape in Essex, England. The inspectors investigating this crime think that due to the way that the tape was woven around the animal, it is impossible that he was tangled by accident. This deliberately cruel act limited the cat’s oxygen intake and made him vulnerable to being hit by a car. It is obvious that whoever did this didn’t care if the cat survived. The cruel individual that tortured and left this cat in such a cruel state should be found and brought to justice immediately.
It is unknown how long the cat was left struggling and panicking against the tape that blinded him and made breathing difficult. The tape would have stuck to the cat’s fur, making its removal painful.
The little orange tabby is friendly, so it is believed that he belongs to a family. He is recovering from the attack with the help of a vet. His owners have yet to be located. Luckily this tomcat has been rescued by caring RSPCA officials, but with the culprit at large, other animals will be at risk of being abused by the perpetrator.
The brute who tortured this cat in this way must be found. This kind of sick violence should not be allowed to persist. Sign this petition to urge the police to quickly find and apprehend this criminal before another animal is allowed to suffer a similar fate.
Dear Chief Constable Kavanagh,
Recently, an abused orange tabby was found covered in hazard tape in Essex. The tape covered the friendly tabby’s eyes, nose and mouth, making it extremely threatening to the animal’s well-being. It has been ruled that this was not accidental, but deliberately done. There is no telling how long the cat was left in this cruel condition before someone found him and contacted the authorities.
Crimes against animals are particularly disturbing because the victims are innocent and powerless to protect themselves. Brutes that commit acts of violence against animals often move on to other prey, like other animals or humans without the power to protect themselves.
Please do everything in your power to ensure that the culprit is found and faces real justice for this cruel crime.
