Target: Sherry Bondy, Councillor for Ward 4 – Harrow of Essex, Ontario
Goal: Praise Essex, Ontario for banning wild animal acts.
Essex, Ontario recently passed a law that bans wild animal acts, which in turn means many circuses are now banned from performing in the town. This is a huge step in the right direction and a great protective measure for many animals.
Animals used in the circus face many physical and mental hardships daily. They are forced to do tricks in front of large, jeering crowds and are then stuffed away in cages when not performing. In addition, these animals are subjected to terribly cruel training methods including physical pain, starvation and prolonged chaining.
Sign this petition and thank Essex for going the extra yard to help prevent animal cruelty and be a voice for animals. It is inspiring to see people joining together to help those that cannot help themselves.
Dear Ms. Bondy,
Recently Essex, Ontario made the groundbreaking decision to ban wild animal acts. This is a great victory for animal liberation.
As you know, animals used in the entertainment industry face many hardships daily. Captivity leads to many physical and mental problems in animals. They are forced to perform tricks in front of large, jeering crowds and are then stuffed into cages when it is not show time. These animals are typically trained using various barbaric methods including physical pain, starvation and prolonged chaining.
Thank you for taking the initiative and banning wild animal acts from your town. If the animals could speak for themselves, they would thank you immensely. I can only hope more cities and towns will follow in your footsteps.
