Target: Anthony Lawrence III, District Attorney for Jackson County, Mississippi
Goal: Demand that the people who reportedly scalded a cat with hot liquid, leading to the animal’s death, receive the maximum penalty possible if found guilty of this horrific crime.
A viral video showed two people scalding a cat with hot liquid. The cat was later found dead underneath a house. Demand that justice is served for this innocent cat.
“It was curled in a fetal position. Very sad. It looked like a nice cat, in good shape,” stated Helene Hicks, an animal rescue volunteer. She retrieved the cat’s body only a day after a viral video reportedly showed a woman pouring boiling liquid over it. The necropsy showed that the cat suffered thermal burns over the majority of its body. It was found not far from where it was burned.
Mass Point police have identified the people in the video. The suspects will be charged with aggravated animal cruelty. Sign below and demand that these people receive the maximum penalty if found guilty.
Dear District Attorney Lawrence,
A viral video showed a cat being scalded with boiling liquid. The poor animal later died from its injuries. We demand that justice is served for this innocent cat.
“Who in their right mind would ever think that it’s okay to treat an animal like this! If the tables were turned and it was you being treated like this you would want justice!” This was just one Facebook comment on the viral video that shocked many. The video showed a woman pouring the liquid on the frightened cat while a man taunted the anguished animal.
This abuse cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.
