Demand Airline Stop Using Wool in Its Uniforms

Target: Doug Parker, CEO of American Airlines

Goal: No longer use wool in American Airlines’ employee uniforms.

American Airlines recently started using wool uniforms for its employees. Not only does wool come from the bodies of tortured animals, but the wool is causing headaches, itching, rashes, eye irritation, burning skin and other ailments among American Airlines’ employees.

While many people believe wool is simply shaven off sheep and no harm is done, that is unfortunately not the truth. It is common for employees to be paid by the volume acquired, not by the hour, which leads to quick, messy work. Sheep are often wounded with the sharp shears and their wounds are stitched up and forgotten about without any use of pain killers. In addition, eyewitness reports claim to have seen employees punch, kick and stomp on sheep trapped in the wool industry.

Sign this petition to ask American Airlines to switch to a cruelty-free wool alternative that will also not cause the ailments bothering many of the employees.

Dear Mr. Parker,

Recently, your airline decided to switch uniforms for its employees. The new uniform is made of wool which has been causing many irritations including rashes, headaches, burning skin, hives, and itching. Not only is this uniform causing a lot of discomfort for the people wearing it, the wool comes from the bodies of tortured sheep.

Many people believe that wool is simply shaven off the sheep, however that is not true. Most employees are paid by the amount they yield, not by the hour, which leads to quick, messy work. The sheep are often cut with the sharp shears and the wounds are stitched up without any use of painkillers.

Please consider switching the uniform to a cruelty-free wool alternative. The alternative would spare thousands of sheep from unnecessary pain and would not cause the many irritations bothering your employees.
