Target: Jenny Hopkins, Chief Crown Prosecutor for Essex, United Kingdom

Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for the person who dropped a cat from a second story window.

A cat was dropped out of a second story window in Essex and fell 25 feet to the ground. The young male cat is suspected to have a broken pelvis. Demand justice for this innocent cat.

“To drop a cat from such a height is such an unthinkably cruel act and I would like to find this person and hold them accountable for the suffering they have caused to this poor cat,” stated inspector Adam Jones of the Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). Witnesses reported that a person held the cat outside of the window, briefly, before dropping him. It was unclear whether the person was male or female.

The RSPCA is investigating, but does not yet have a suspect. The cat is being treated at a local veterinarian’s office. Sign below to demand the maximum penalty in this case.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chief Prosecutor Hopkins,

A cat was deliberately dropped out of a second story window. He fell 25 feet and is being treated for a possible broken pelvis. We demand justice for this innocent cat.

The black and white male cat was found staggering and limping in a nearby area. His owner has yet to be identified. Witnesses identified the suspect as white, but could give no other details.

RSPCA investigators are searching for the person responsible for this horrendous act of cruelty. We demand that you assign the maximum penalty to this person, should they be found guilty.

Sincerely,

  1. Ignorant, idiot people are always trying to “find out” if its true cats will always land on their feet…..

I RESCUED a cat who, at our former apartment, was being continually dropped/ thrown off the second story by kids wanting to “test” this…..the cat was traumatized, permanently afraid of (most) people……and lucky he wasn’t injured!

Thanks and blessings to you, Lajeanne, for rescuing that poor cat.
      Rita.

    • Ellen Spencer says:

Then they say help kids…I’d drop them all from a second story window (or better still, a third)..to see if they can land on their feet of course.

    • David Lavery says:

If these sadists were given what they deserve – a death penalty , there would be no reoffending.

      • Couldn’t agree more, David. I’d start with dropping some of those kids mentioned in the first comment out of a second floor window.

    • Can’t believe all the petitions we have to sign against animal abuse. What don’t the authorities not get? This is not normal behavior – it’s not “just a cat”, or dog, or horse, fox, or any other defenseless animal. You can’t turn a blind eye to this. This is criminal.
So I commented on another petition, don’t put down animals. Get rid of abusers of animals, of women, of children, people who prey on the elderly. …
      Problem – Solution. Simple.

Send this cat to me. He’ll never know another bad day.
      Don’t kill him – he’s suffered enough.

    • Thank you for taking the responsibility of rescuing that cat. More people need to make a difference.

WTH is wrong with people? We need tougher laws. Any type of animal abuse, neglect or death should be a FELONY!!! Maybe then people will think before being cruel!!! I pray the poor kitty will be ok, and get adopted into a loving home. Also home they find the SOB and lock him up. Sick!!!!

  3. Why do sane judges and the police not see the sickness!

    • Margaret Melnick says:

Because they are not sane. Have you seen what kind of sentences Judges are handing out for all sorts of crimes? Have you seen the things police are getting away with? They are more insane and sicker than the people committing the crimes.

  4. Margaret Melnick says:

They are still searching for the person who did this?????? What the hell is going on witness saw this happen, they should be able to tell the police which apartment window the cat was dropped from. Who cares who did it. If the person renting or owning the apartment won’t give the police the information charge them with obstructing justice as well as animal cruelty. I think that should get the information the police need. Seems like a no brainer to me.

  5. YES… As witnesses saw a person holding the cat out the window, and then dropping it, FINDING the apt should not be difficult!!!! Information as to who lives there would naturally not be difficult to access either, and questions asked, and AS FAR AS the apt and tenant/owner goes, ALL TENANTS, residents and/or lease holders are legally responsible for whatever goes on in their flat or apt, regardless of WHO commits an act in that flat or apt, especially in relation to antisocial, cruel or distressing behavior… The upshot: SOMEONE gets [deservedly] busted, either way…
WHY is this seemingly not being paid attention to?!? CLEARLY, someone or something is dragging their feet…

  6. Linda Amundson says:

There were witnesses. If it were a child dropped like this, SOMEONE would be arrested by now! Whoever did this is no better than someone who’d drop a child. Arrest, prosecute, jail, fine and/or hold accountable for vet bills, and ban from animals for life. Necessary and not that difficult. The stumbling blocks are the law and mostly judges or magistrates.

  9. AL SER HUMANO LE SIGUE HACIENDO FALTA CONOCER EL SUFRIMIENTO Y EL DOLOR PARA GENERAR EMPATÍA EN SÍ MISMO. TANTO DOLOR EN SU MISERABLE HISTORIA AÚN NO LE HA ENSEÑADO NADA???? ESTO ES INAUDITO, IMPERDONABLE, INACEPTABLE… NO LO PUEDO COMPRENDER. EL SER HUMANO CREE SER LA PIEZA MÁS IMPORTANTE DEL PLANETA, PERO TAN SÓLO ES LA PIEZA QUE NO EMBONA EN EL PLANETA. LA TIERRA GIRA EN FAVOR DE LA VIDA, MIENTRAS QUE EL SER HUMANO EN FUNCIÓN DE LA MUERTE, ES EL ÚNICO SER VIVO QUE GIRA AL REVÉS. ESTO ES TERRIBLE!!!
