Target: Neighborhood Inspector Jon Dunkerley
Goal: Find and bring to justice a man who appears to repeatedly strike a leashed dog with a baseball bat and ensure that this man is never able to own an animal again.
A video has emerged of a man brutally striking a leashed dog repeatedly with a bat. The dog was unable to escape or fight back against the force of the blows. The man on the video has not been found or identified, so this dog may still be suffering in the possession of his abuser.
It is a heartbreaking video to watch. The dog walks with its body hunched away from the man as if expecting to be struck at any second. Next, the dog lies down in the grass pulling back on the leash and refusing to walk any further. The video shows the man brandishing his bat at the defenseless animal. He appears to yank on the leash several times but the dog is doesn’t get up. The man looks like he is becoming more frustrated with the dog, so he lifts the bat and strikes the dog several times. The dog tries to flee, but the leash prevents him. The video ends.
This kind of abuse should not go unpunished. This poor dog might still be facing daily abuse from this brute. The video was taken in Huddersfield, England, but the police there have yet to find and punish this man. Sign this petition to urge that the police swiftly investigate this man and save this dog from further abuse.
