Justice for Puppy Found Starving and Severely Ill

Target: Devon Anderson, Harris County District Attorney

Goal: Punish those responsible for the neglect and abandonment of a helpless 7-month-old puppy.

An abandoned chocolate lab was rescued by Harris County’s Animal Cruelty deputies in Houston, and the owners are being charged with abandonment. The puppy was found starving and suffering from severe mange and intestinal issues, lying on a pile of soiled laundry.

The dog is being treated at the Houston Humane Society, and has been named Bella. At first it was unclear whether Bella would survive, but the treatment and care she has been receiving at the Humane Society has been working and she is now getting ready to join a local family that reached out to the society.

The owners who were charged with abandonment — Tristan Hancock and Elisha Gonzalez — have not yet been arrested and their location is unknown. Authorities are encouraging them to turn themselves in. Sign below and demand that these alleged abusers face jail time for what they have done to this helpless puppy.

Dear District Attorney Anderson,

A 7-month-old chocolate lab who was rescued by Harris County Animal Cruelty deputies deserves justice. The puppy, who has been named Bella, is being treated for severe mange and intestinal issues at the Houston Humane Society. She was found lying on a pile of dirty laundry, starving and very ill.

The former owners, Tristan Hancock and Elisha Gonzalez, are charged with abandonment, but have not yet been arrested and their location is unknown. They must be held accountable for their alleged treatment of this helpless, innocent dog. I urge you to ensure that the owners are held responsible and punished for their actions.

  1. I am getting so sick and tired of reading about all these animals being abused by POS supposed human’s. These dirt bags need to be proscuted to the fullest and should never ever be allowed to own an animal again. Wake up and prosecute to the fullest. You know who did not get them.

  2. Nancy Dunlap says:

Dear Devon Anderson, Harris county district Attorney,

Please see that these individuals are punished to the fullest extent of the law.

  3. Are u kidding me? Haven’t been arrested? Wtf is going on there? This isa deplorable, mean and intentional abuse! I hooe these people rot in prison! We need stronger laws for animal abusers! They should be treated as of they did the same thing to a child! I pray that they get locked under the prison!

Showing their pictures should speed up the arrests..
Just “slapping” them on their wrists is not acceptable nor is it enough..
Is that how they should be treated?? Given a bed of soiled clothes and starved?? Dogs especially are loyal animals.. This still makes me ill reading this.. My heart reaches out to “Bella” and all the abused animals.. I hope Thant all get their “fur-ever” homes and are showered with all the love and care that they deserve.. A HUGE thank to their rescuers who prove how big their hearts are.. God bless you all!!
