Target: Ed Brodsky, State’s Attorney for Manatee County

Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for a man who reportedly neglected to provide medical care for two dogs, resulting in the death of one.

One dog was found dead and another severely injured in the backyard of a Florida home. The resident had reportedly been responsible for their care for months but denied knowledge of their current condition. Demand justice for these innocent dogs.

Manatee County Animal Services officers smelled a strong odor coming from Daniel Conrad Gleason Jr.’s backyard. They broke down his fence to find the carcass of Scruffy, a cockapoo, decomposing. Gabby, a female basset hound, was also found severely injured. Gleason reported that the dogs belonged to his boss but that he’d been caring for them for months. He stated that he was unaware of their current condition.

Gleason was charged with two counts of animal cruelty and possession of a controlled substance. He was released from jail on bond. Sign below and demand the maximum penalty in this case.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State’s Attorney Brodsky,

One dog was found dead and another severely injured while in the care of a Florida man. He reportedly never sought medical attention for either dog. We demand justice for these innocent dogs.

Manatee County Animal Services officers spoke with the dogs’ owner, who’d moved away months before, and confirmed that the dogs were entrusted into Daniel Conrad Gleason Jr.’s care. Gleason reportedly informed the owner that he had sold the dogs on Craigslist. The dogs were discovered days later, one decomposing.

This neglect cannot go unpunished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

He’s got to be the stupidest person to not realize there’s something wrong with these animals. What a BS excuse. I hope he keeps using drugs & dies a painful death. Worthless piece of garbage that should not be allowed to breathe the air we breathe.

  2. THIS SICK FUCK NEEDS TO BE SLAUGHTERED.

  3. Linda Hilty-Tuttle says:

STOP releasing these bastards on bond so easily! No wonder scumbags continue animal abuse when there are such poor and inadequate penalties and consequences! Let’s start making them PAY for their atrocious behaviors!!!

Please do the just and right thing. Do not let irresponsible and cruel owners go unpunished for mistreating and abandoning their pets. Both Daniel Conrad Gleason Jr. (current caretaker) and his boss (the dogs’ owner) should be harshly penalized.

  6. Here we go again, another animal cruelty, another soft sentence on the owner. When are we going to start handing out the right punishment to these monsters.let the punishment fit the crime.do the same to them that they did to that poor defenceless animal.
