Applaud the Arrest of Pet Store Operator for Animal Cruelty

Target: West New York Humane Officer Geoffrey Santini

Goal: Thank humane officer for arresting a pet store operator who severely neglected the animals in her care

The operator of a West New York pet store has been arrested after a tip directed a humane officer to the pet shop. The operator was charged with nine counts of animal cruelty charges, and for ownership of over 90 hypodermic syringes and prescription tranquilizers.

According to, authorities raided Puppy Haven pet shop in New York and what they uncovered was disturbing. They found the animals in the facility laying in cages that were filled with their own feces and urine. There were no signs of food or water and there were rodent and insect feces all over the facility. The situation was so bad that the officer had to call other officers for help. The officer made his way to the back of the store and found needles and tranquilizers thrown on the floor along with filthy and rusty shears on the animal grooming tables. The pet store worker handed all of the dogs over to authorities where they were then taken to get veterinary attention.

Please sign this petition to thank the New York officers for arresting the operator of Puppy Haven and saving the abused animals that were in her care.

Dear Officer Geoffrey Santini,

There are so many pet owners and pet shop operators that are not doing what they claim they are doing. When you hear about a place called “Puppy Haven,” no one could ever imagine the awful things that are actually going on behind closed doors. Thank you for responding quickly to the tip that something suspicious was going on in this. You and your team of officers were able to arrest the operator and rescue nine dogs from the pet shop.

What you found in the pet shop was disheartening and we are glad that the store will be further investigated following her arrest. So many dogs were being abused in this store, but thankfully this cruel person will not hurt any more animals. These type of pet shops are deceiving to the average pet owner; therefore, it is important for people to keep a vigil eye on these types of pet shops and report any suspicious activities. Thank you for all that you do to keep the people and animals of West New York safe and sound.

  1. This operator of Puppy HELL should serve serious time and expense for such disgusting cruelty to those tiny innocents, so helpless under her brutal neglect and abuse. All people who breed or sell animals to anyone are terribly wrong as well. The trade in animals as things has got to end or we’ll never be human beings, will only continue calling ourselves that.

  2. Despina M. Andrelus says:

“A righteous man regards the life of animals” – PROVERBS 12:10; “If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion & pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men” – ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI; “Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.” – MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.; “I hope to make people realize how totally helpless animals are, how dependent on us, trusting as a child must that we will be kind and take care of their needs…(They) are an obligation put on us, a responsibility we have no rights to neglect, nor to violate by cruelty….” – JAMES HARRIOT; “The greatness of a nation & its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated” – MAHATMA GANDHI

  3. Despina M. Andrelus says:

Abuse is the ultimate betrayal towards any living soul and is absolutely heartbreaking. You simply can not do such a horrific thing without it killing the best in you. Period. But in case there are any out there who couldn’t care less about torturing animals – which says a lot about you, as well – then think on this: If you find people happily willing to hurt an animal in any way, they are actually finding a venue to act out their deepest, most inner evil fantasies of twisted sickness. There’s nothing more revolting than that. Aside from that, it has been proven over and over again that there is a definite strong link between animal cruelty and domestic violence. People who have horrid intents with animals, get bored with them soon enough, ultimately leading them to bigger prey, moving up to people, in order to re-ignite and enhance the excitement that the torturing of animals used to provide. It’s simply never enough. And do not ignore the most obvious fact that these horrid monsters also end up raising their children in “the game”, breeding evil, little sickos to continue on “the trade”… no doubt causing abuse in every level of their lives, as well. It’s just a revolting cycle that will never end until someone gets into it and breaks the heart-wrenching pattern. So, even if the sorrowful, heartbreaking tragedy of an animal is not of your utmost concern, then note that it will not stop there. It is just a start. And it is just a matter of time.

  4. Thank you Officer Santini, you are a compassionate person in law enforcement. We need more like you.

  5. NOWHERE on EARTH should there be any ‘pet stores’ anymore. Nasty things!

  6. Eileen goodman says:

All puppy mills should be shut down, now! No pet store should be allowed to sell puppies! Where is the USDA when it’s needed?! Nowhere to be found.

  7. Many pet shops have already stopped the sale of pets and are only focusing on pet products such as food and toys. This needs to happen nationwide …. and all over the world !!! As for the woman who was arrested ~ put her in a cage with no food, no water, no contact with others and NO HOPE !!!!!!!
