Demand Maximum Punishment for Alleged Cat Killer

Orange Tabby

Target: Sharon A. Chatman, Santa Clara County Superior Judge

Goal: Impose the maximum sentence on man who allegedly abused and murdered at least 21 cats.

A 24-year-old man is accused of abducting and brutally murdering at least 21 cats from his San Jose neighborhood. Robert Farmer faces up to 16 years in jail for several counts of animal abuse in addition to counts of battery and being under the influence of meth. There is video footage of Farmer wrangling cats which he reportedly abducted and mutilated.

When he was arrested, he was found in his car hiding a cat he allegedly abused and murdered. An autopsy of the orange tabby found evidence of sexual abuse due to vulva and rectal lesions. This man’s disgusting behavior qualifies him for a lot of jail time, but unfortunately a year has gone by and justice has yet to be served.

Farmer’s attorney, Wesley Schroeder, has repeatedly requested continuances in this trial, which is why it has taken almost a year for sentencing. While the courts claim that everything is going as it should, it is well past time Farmer paid for his crimes.

His next day in court is October 4. Animal activists in California have shown their support by showing up to previous hearings and holding up pictures of the pets they loved and lost. Show yours by signing this petition to demand that the judge give Farmer the maximum sentence for his crimes against animals.

Dear Judge Chatman,

The man accused of stealing and mutilating at least 21 cats has evaded justice for too long. A year ago, he was arrested in his car where they found a female orange tabby cat who had been abducted, brutally raped, and killed. This crime is so sickening, it must be punished as soon as possible.

Farmer’s requests for continuances have made this trial go on far too long while many pet owners wonder if they will ever see justice for their cats. The outpour of support from animal activists has been evident in your own court room, and I am writing to express mine as well.

Currently, Farmer faces up to 16 years for the heinous crimes he has committed. In addition to animal cruelty, he is also accused of battery and being under the influence of meth. This man is not safe and should not be allowed around anyone, especially animals.

By prosecuting this man, you show animal abusers that the law will not let them get away with such irredeemable acts. Please make sure that Farmer is condemned for what he has done and that he receives the maximum punishment for his crimes.

  1. Again another POS that is being allowed to remain loose on the streets. This world is in danger if we don’t start taking these really seriously. These people and others are examples of our country. God help us all if things don’t change when it comes to animal abuse and other abuses.
