Ban Elephant Acts Forcing Sick Animals to Perform

Circus AlejandroLinaresGarcia (1)

Target: Stephen M. Sweeney, New Jersey Senate President

Goal: Approve “Nosey’s Law” and ban all elephant circus acts from the state of New Jersey.

An elephant with many reported health problems continues to be used for shows and rented out to paying customers by her owner. New Jersey Senator Raymond J. Lesniak created a law banning all elephant circus acts from the state of New Jersey and named it after Nosey, the circus elephant who has been treated with nothing but disrespect.

Elephants are incredibly intelligent, social and curious animals, but unfortunately they are the stars of many circus and entertainment shows. Thankfully, more and more people are seeing the cruelness of forcing wild animals to perform in shows.

In order for this law to become a reality, it needs to be approved by the senate committee. Sign this petition and urge the senate to speak up for animals and approve Nosey’s Law.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Senator Sweeney,

Soon the senate committee will decide whether or not to pass “Nosey’s Law.” Nosey’s Law would ban all elephant circus acts from the state of New Jersey.

The law is named after a circus elephant Nosey who has experienced some of the worst sides of humanity. She reportedly suffers from many debilitating diseases, however her owner continues to use her in shows and rent her out. Just last year, her owner allegedly let people ride her as she limped along, fearing what would happen if she stopped.

As president of the New Jersey senate, I am urging you to approve Nosey’s Law. Elephants all over the nation suffer in the same ways Nosey does on a daily basis. It is time for this unnecessary cruelness to end and Nosey’s Law could be the spark the movement needs.

Sincerely,
