Dog Forced to Chew Off Own Leg to Get Free Deserves Justice

Target: James M. Sullivan, First Justice of the Plymouth County Court

Goal: Severely prosecute the owner of a seriously neglected dog who had to chew off his own leg to free himself from the tether he became entangled in.

A dog was forced to chew off part of his own leg to free himself from a tether wrapped around it because of the gross negligence and severe neglect of his owner. The male German Shepherd, named Maverick, was found by an animal control officer in Middleboro, Massachusetts, and rushed to an animal clinic for emergency treatment. Shelter workers believe he was forced to chew off his right rear foot after his tether became tightly twisted around his leg for days, if not weeks.

Moreover, Maverick’s other legs were reportedly covered in rope burns and scars. MSPCA rescue center personnel who cared for the dog called his plight one of the most egregious cases of neglect they’d ever seen. In Massachusetts, animal cruelty is punishable by up to seven years in state prison and/or a fine of up to $5,000.

Sign this petition asking that the person responsible for leaving Maverick in such a critical condition is harshly punished and receives the maximum fine and prison sentence possible.

Dear Justice Sullivan,

Please ensure the man responsible for neglecting his tethered dog so severely the animal had to chew his own leg off to get free is punished to the full extent of the law. The dog, a male German Shepherd named Maverick, was forced to chew off his right rear foot after he became entangled in his tether, for what law enforcement officers believe was days, if not weeks. The dog also presented rope burns and scars on his other legs.

I urge you to ensure that Maverick’s owner is severely punished for this cruel case of gross neglect, which resulted in unimaginable suffering for an innocent animal. This man deserves to receive the maximum penalty for his actions, which are seven years in jail and a $5,000 fine.

These poor creatures cannot help themselves , go to a pay phone use a cell # BUT call somebody to help the animal unless you are brave enough to rescue the animal yourself but be prepared to defend your self bacause the owner/beast and the law won’t
