Justice for Pit Bull Puppy Nearly Killed from Starvation

Target: Xan Rawls, Director of Animal Services and Enforcement

Goal: Harshly punish couple who allegedly let a puppy nearly starve to death and left a collar to embed into a dog’s neck.

A six-week old pit bull was reportedly found nearly dead from starvation while a second dog was found with a collar embedded into its neck. Veterinarians say this is the worst case of animal cruelty they’ve seen.

Police entered the home of 24-year-old Taylor Thomas and 46-year-old Felicia White after receiving a tip about possible animal cruelty. Detectives said that the puppy was so lethargic and weak that they thought the animal was dead until they saw its head lift and eyes blink. The second dog at the property had reportedly been so neglected that a collar was embedded into its neck. The puppy required 24-hour care, but is now recovering.

If it weren’t for the tip and police intervening when they did, these poor dogs would’ve most likely died. The pain and suffering of this level of neglect and starvation is unimaginable. There is no excuse for this when the owners, two grown adults, could’ve done something about it. They could’ve given the dogs away or taken them to a shelter if caring for them was a problem. Instead, it seems the cruel duo watched as their poor animals suffered nearly to death.

This kind of animal cruelty won’t stop until the repercussions are severe enough. It’s imperative that these innocent lives are protected. Please sign this petition to make sure that these poor animals are given justice and their owners punished harshly and banned from owning animals.

Dear Mr. Rawls,

A puppy was reportedly starved nearly to death and a second dog had a collar embedded into its neck. Detectives, who were called to the property, thought the puppy was dead until they saw it raise its head and blink.

The owners who were charged for this cruelty could’ve given the dogs away or taken them to a shelter if caring for them wasn’t possible. Instead, innocent animals suffered helplessly. This cruelty will  continue to happen unless something is done. We urge you to push for the harshest possible penalty and help ensure that the owners are never allowed to own animals.

The county prosecuting attorney must step up and see that justice is served, ENFORCE MAXIMUM PENALTIES, next it will happen to a child and more animals. Justice must be served.
