Target: Tom Gibbons, State’s Attorney of Madison County

Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for a man who allegedly shot his neighbor’s dog, resulting in the dog’s death.

A dog was reportedly shot, injuring him so badly that he had to be euthanized. The dog, Dante, was in his own fenced-in yard when his neighbor is accused of shooting him in the face. Demand justice for this innocent dog.

Dante’s owner was inside when he heard the gunshot. The six-year-old American bulldog came to his back door moments later, blood dripping from his face. The owner raced outside and reportedly found his neighbor pointing a gun at him. He then ran back into the house and called the police, who apprehended the neighbor.

Dante had to be euthanized due to the severity of his injuries. The neighbor faces charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and misdemeanor aggravated assault. Sign below and demand the maximum penalty in this case.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State Attorney Gibbons,

A man allegedly shot a six-year-old American bulldog, causing the dog to be euthanized. The shooting reportedly occurred in the dog’s fenced-in backyard. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Dante, an American bulldog, was playing with his owner’s three-year-old son only moments before the shooting. A single shot injured his face, leaving him frightened and bleeding. Dante’s owner was also reportedly held at gunpoint, briefly, before the neighbor fled the scene.

This man appears to be a danger not only to animals but also to people. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

  1. Vicky Cole says:

Why isn’t gun ownership being regulated, as if people actually needed them? Both children and animals have died or been maimed by cruelty or misadventure, when will it stop and be any more than another statistic rather than an individual tragedy

    • The logic that guns are the problem is the same logic that says spoons make people fat. Instead of blaming an inanimate object let’s fix what’s wrong with society that allows a person to think they have the right to do such heinous things to other living things

      • Ridiculous and vacuous statement. Kind of like the Amendment rights argument because when those old musket loaders were being used the forefathers had no idea that weapons that exist today would be used. Aggressive and angry people need weapons since they are too ignorant to resolve problems with words. This neighbor is a prime example of why people should NOT have guns.

Seems straightforward. Please prosecute and I trust the judge will impose a stiff sentence and the media reports to send the message.

  3. barbara diaz says:

IF I WERE THE FATHER OF THAT BOY AND THE WOUNDED DOG, I WOULD NEVER LET THAT NEIGHBOR FORGET WHAT HE DID. THAT IDIOT NEEDS TO MAKE AMENDS AND DO RIGHT BY THE DOG, THE BOY AND THE FATHER. AND THIS SHOULD BE A FELONY. ANOTHER PSYCHOTIC GUN CARRIER.

  4. Alice Cheang says:

This bastard should live a reclusive life, no human nor animal contact for him after serving harsh jail time.
