Investigate Dead Animals Found in Garbage Bags

Target: Dan Barrett, Deputy Director of Contra Costa County Animal Control, California

Goal: Conduct investigation into animal carcasses reportedly placed in garbage bags.

Nine bags full of different animal body parts and carcasses were found strung along a road. According to people who posted photos to social media, the large, clear garbage bags contained the parts of raccoons, cats, and dogs. Despite this bizarre, alarming incident, animal control officers aren’t bothering to investigate. Instead, Contra Costa County Animal Control blew off the entire incident, telling outlets that the bags contained the carcasses of goats and chickens and that it appears to be garbage from a party.

It sounds as if the animal control officers don’t see goats and chickens as important, living creatures who deserve to live. What kind of sick party includes animal carcasses? Nine random bags of dead animals should be a cause for extreme concern. Residents in the neighborhood where the carcasses were found are scared for the lives of their pets, and rightly so.

Please add your name to this petition demanding that the animal control authorities take the lives of animals more seriously and conduct an investigation to find out what happened to these poor souls.

Dear Mr. Barrett,

Nine random garbage bags full of animal carcasses were reportedly found strewn along a road. People who found the bags posted photos to social media saying they contained the body parts of cats, raccoons, and dogs. However, an animal control spokesman says that it was goat and chicken carcasses and that they believe it was just the result of a party, not cruelty.

It’s appalling that nine bags of random dead animals would not be concerning enough to animal control officers. All animal lives are important and we demand that an investigation be conducted to find out what happened to these poor animals.

Perhaps they will do something if a child’s body is discovered in a garbage bag on the side of the road. Monsters who prey on animals have been proven to have no respect for human life either. Get off your lazy asses and do your freaking job.

  2. Cynthia Mattera says:

What kind of police dept is running this town? Yes, you must investigate. There is a sick person out there, murdering all different kinds of animals. People could be next on his list. This is how serial killers start….with animals!!! Please take this crime more seriously!!!!

  3. michelle taylor says:

Terminate all the involved lazy, uncaring pathetic staff of Contra Costa County Animal Control, California

  4. Linda Barnett says:

There must be an IMMEDIATE investigation into this appalling discovery. I find it very hard to believe that the carcasses were “from a party”! If you believe that, you will believe anything! This situation is highly suspicious(9 bags strewn along the roadside)! There has to be a full investigation to find the truth of these horrific findings. All life is precious and must be respected. Something terrible has happened to these creatures and the authorities MUST GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS!

  6. Bev Woodburn says:

The animal torturers must be caught and brought to Justice for deliberate animal torture and suffering and jailed for life.
If these psychopathic monsters are not caught they will continue torturing innocent and helpless animals.
They need to be put to death. Then innocent animals will be safe from the clutch of these animal torturing monsters from hell.

These people need to be identified and treated for mental illness.

  10. Where did this happen? Nothing indicates where these poor animals were found. Let’s get that information and inform the media.
