Target: Gabrielle Upton, Attorney General of New South Wales
Goal: Aim for harsher punishment for man whose dogs reportedly had gaping wounds as a result of their muzzles being tied with plastic.
Four border collies were reportedly found with severe wounds and living in feces. The dogs were tied to trees with plastic straps wrapped around their muzzles so tightly that it caused gaping wounds in their snouts. The muzzles made it nearly impossible for them to open their mouths to bark, eat, or drink and most of them had little to no teeth from trying to eat while muzzled. Authorities say most of them had no access to water.
The RSPCA seized a total of 13 dogs from the owner, James Connelly. Despite this horrific level of cruelty, the owner was only punished with a fine when he pleaded guilty to four charges of animal cruelty.
Reports say the wounds were emitting a decaying flesh odor, so there’s no telling how much pain and suffering they were in due to the wounds and being tied up for so long. Unfortunately, they didn’t get the justice they deserve or their owner would be behind bars instead of just given a measly fine. Please add your name to this petition to demand that this disgusting injustice be reversed and a harsher penalty be given to Mr. Connelly.
Dear Ms. Upton,
A man reportedly tied his dogs to trees and wrapped plastic around their muzzles, causing gaping snout wounds. A total of 13 dogs were seized from his home and many were reportedly found living in feces.
Despite the shocking level of cruelty these poor dogs faced, the owner was only given a fine, as if these dogs’ lives aren’t important. Please help reverse this disgusting injustice by making sure he receives an appropriate punishment.
