Justice for Maggot-Infested Dog Left Outside to Die

Target: John McCarthy, State’s Attorney

Goal: Demand the maximum penalty for a man who reportedly left his sick dog outside to die.

A man reportedly left his sick dog outside with no plans to give her medical attention. The dog had to be euthanized due to the severity of her illness. Demand justice for this innocent dog.

Police officers found the dying dog, named Cholula, lying in a towel-covered crate. She had wounds of unknown origin and maggots infesting all of her body cavities. An unpleasant odor surrounded her, leading to her placement outside. The owner was aware of the dog’s poor health, reports claim, but he did not make any official plans to obtain medical care.

The owner was arrested and charged with two counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty. Animal control also removed a cat and a six-month-old puppy from the home. Sign below to demand the maximum penalty in this case.

Dear State’s Attorney McCarthy,

A dog had to be euthanized due to severe neglect. Cholula, the dog, was found outside of her home covered in maggots and emitting a terrible smell. We demand the maximum penalty in this horrific case.

Cholula’s owner was out of town when police officers discovered her in gravely ill condition. A friend, who was watching Cholula, informed him that flies surrounded her and she appeared ill. The owner claimed to have plans to take her to the vet, but officers could not find any record of an actual appointment.

This outright neglect cannot go unpunished. We demand the maximum penalty in this case.

I agree with E Cambridge – this petition should not be necessary if animal abuse laws were carried through! Far too often people turn a blind eye or give excuses wy they can’t prosecute Well it’s time they chnaged! Prosecute this piece of garbage!

    • Well put my friend dead on I do not understand why laws are not stronger, much stronger. It isn’t rocket science, one would think. why do we put human behavior towards innocent animals on the back burner. it is time to prosecute these people in a big way. My god the suffering this little dog endured and for how long. Not good enough and yes I think this person is a piece of garbage as well

  2. We have become a nation of rude uncaring and abusive people. I pray the owner of this animal gets actaul punishment for what he let this poor animal live through.
He isn’t even entitled to be called a human

People who start petitions seem to forget that it will be read by people everywhere. This petitioner is aware of the location of this incident but nobody else is. Where is this?

  4. Catherine Dugan says:

What an selfish, unfeeling bastard this person is! To leave that poor, dying dog outside, all alone! Would he leave his sick child, wrapped in a blanket, all alone?!
He deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law!

  5. Denise Beard says:

And all this piece of human garbage was charged with was a misdemeanor??? Our very weak laws are a contributing factor to why this continues to go on. It is overwhelming to daily read about yet another case of horrific cruelty & neglect. Way too many people need to removed from the gene pool right away.

  6. Misdemeanors?! Charges against this inhumane monster, allowing horrific suffering of this dog–should be animal cruelty felony with years in prison!

These weak laws with lenient enforcement are one of the main reasons barbaric animal cruelty continues, extensively and continuously.

When is a federal Animal Cruelty Registry going to keep track of these monsters, so that neighbors can protect their pets and their families against these psychopaths?!

    • jo bradley says:

Totally agree with you, its time the law was changed to make the punishment fit the crime. This poor animal must have suffered greatly. This psychopath must be locked up as he is a danger to society.

  7. Lisa Zarafonetis says:

    P. O. S. Son of a bitch❗️?
Put his ass in a crate & leave him out in the elements to suffer❗️?

  8. Kathie Jones says:

This is blatant Felony Animal Abuse. The owner must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! Don’t let this poor pup die in vain. Don’t let her abuser walk.

  9. Stephanie Geyser says:

In the future, when her owner is old and near death, I hope that his fetid body stinks and maggots infest his every orifice. It will be far better retribution for the way he treated his pet dog, than the slap on the wrist that the State Attorney is likely to deliver.

  10. CRIMES AGAINST ANIMALS MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY – allowing Cholula the dog to suffer without medical attention is cruel & unconscionable neglect — this individual MUST be included in a Registry Not Allowing Him/Her to Have Animals Ever Again — WHY would a rational & compassionate society allow for anyone to get away with cruelly neglecting animals & depriving them of their basic needs to stay alive! — clearly, these individuals should be NOWHERE NEAR animals and NEVER adopt again — EVER! —- We do NOT WANT REPEATS of such crimes against animals!
