Target: Kent Digby, Operations Manager, National Harbor
Goal: Have venue cancel circus show unless it performs without animals.
UniverSoul Circus is notorious for allegedly hiring entertainers who abuse and neglect their animals and have numerous Animal Welfare Act violations. Unfortunately, these facts have not stopped the National Harbor from moving forward with its plan to feature UniverSoul Circus.
UniverSoul Circus’ current big cat trainer has admitted to keeping his animals in their cages for 24 hours a day up to seven days a week. In addition, UniverSoul Circus has had animals escape on more than one occasion. This puts both the animals and the people in the area in danger. UniverSoul Circus apparently lacks responsibility and respect for its animals.
Sign this petition and demand National Harbor cancel its plans with UniverSoul Circus unless it performs without animals.
Dear Mr. Digby,
Your venue is planning on having UniverSoul Circus perform despite the numerous atrocities that this circus has allegedly committed.
UniverSoul Circus has had animals escape on more than one occasion. In addition, the two elephants currently traveling with UniverSoul Circus have tested positive for tuberculosis. This puts the animals and community in danger. As if these atrocities weren’t enough, the current big cat trainer for UniverSoul Circus has admitted to keeping his animals in their cages for 24 hours a day up to seven days a week.
Please consider canceling your plans with UniverSoul Circus unless it will perform without its animals. These animals belong in nature where they can play in the sunshine with friends, not stuck in cages waiting to entertain crowds.
