Target: Kathleen Kane, Attorney General of Pennsylvania
Goal: Charge owners with animal cruelty for allegedly neglecting and killing several dogs.
Over a dozen dogs were reportedly found suffering from neglect alongside several dog corpses. Only four were alive, but they were underweight and suffering from skin and ear infections as well as flea infestations, according to reports.
Despite the severe signs of neglect, the owners reportedly still have legal custody of two of the dogs while the other two have been signed over to the Humane Society. Unfortunately, Pennsylvania is known for its slack animal cruelty laws. An animal shelter director said that people can get anything from a slap on the wrist to a small fine for animal cruelty, but that the punishments are not in line with the severity of many cruelty crimes.
The remaining two dogs could end up having to return to the owners who allegedly neglected them, and that would be a terrible injustice. Sign this petition to demand that the owners be charged with animal cruelty and banned from owning animals.
Dear Ms. Kane,
Four dogs were reportedly found in a home among 11 dog corpses. The four living dogs had flea infestations, ear and skin infections, and were underweight, according to reports.
Despite the signs of neglect and unnecessary harm, the owners reportedly have legal custody of two of the remaining dogs and will likely receive little to no real punishment. Please help these poor dogs avoid a terrible injustice by banning the owners from having animals and charging them with animal cruelty.
