Target: Andy Beshear, Attorney General of Kentucky
Goal: Punish whoever placed a rubber band around a dog’s mouth and paw, causing its bone to be exposed.
A Pomeranian mix is reportedly being treated for injuries as a result of a rubber band being wrapped tightly around its mouth and front paw. Officials say that it cut the dog’s circulation off and exposed its bone. Photos of the small, helpless animal paint a gruesome picture of abuse.
If it weren’t for people finding the dog, named Bandit by animal service staff, it would’ve probably suffered a slow, agonizing death. It appears that the band was holding Bandit’s mouth shut, which would make it impossible to eat or drink.
In a news release, a spokesperson called it a “potential” case of abuse and asked the public to come forward with information about the owners. This appears to be a definite case of abuse and authorities should thoroughly investigate until they find out who placed the torturous rubber band around Bandit. Enforcement of Kentucky’s animal cruelty laws has been too lenient and it’s time that changes. Please sign this petition demanding that authorities prosecute the person responsible.
Dear Mr. Beshear,
A Pomeranian mix was reportedly found with a rubber band around its mouth and paw, cutting bone-deep and cutting off circulation. The person responsible remains at large.
This unusual form of torture against a helpless animal must not go unpunished. We urge you to do whatever it takes to prosecute the person responsible to the fullest extent.
