Animals Found Dead and Malnourished at Shelter Deserve Justice

Target: Andy Beshear, Attorney General of Kentucky

Goal: Punish animal shelter for allegedly allowing malnourished animals to suffer and die.

Over 60 animals were reportedly rescued from an animal shelter after a child found a dead dog in a kennel. The Humane Society says that dozens of animals were malnourished from being underfed and denied water. Rescuers found three dead cats and a dead dog at the shelter, while some of the live animals were in such poor condition they had to be euthanized.

The rescued animals would have probably ended up dying, just like the dog and three cats. The immense suffering they endured from hunger and thirst is unimaginable. Please sign this petition to urge authorities to help make sure that the animal shelter worker is brought to justice so that no more animals have to suffer the same fate.

Dear Mr. Beshear,

A child reportedly found a dead dog in animal shelter kennel, leading authorities to find several more dead and over 60 malnourished animals at the shelter. The Humane Society rescued the animals, but some of them still had to be euthanized due to such neglectful conditions.

There is no excuse for animals to suffer to the point of malnourishment and death at an animal shelter. We urge you to help bring the shelter worker to justice and ensure that no more animals suffer there.

  1. Catherine Dugan says:

These people are supposed to take care of the animals in the shelter, not starve them to death! They deserve to be in jail! Let them fight for their lives! Let them see how going hungry takes a long time for someone to die!

  2. Linda Barnett says:

There has to be justice for this despicable act carried out by a shelter worker. These poor creatures were so vulnerable and because of this sick coward they suffered terribly. Justice must be seen to be done. These poor creatures should not have lost their lives because of this ignorant, sick and evil shelter worker. The shelter should be fully investigated so that such an appalling act of unacceptable cruelty never happens again.

Why is this dump still open?? Charge those responsible for this disgusting behaviour.

  5. Pamela Wilks says:

It’s a shame they wanted to sell the dogs for $400 and up. People that want the dogs and care for them can’t afford to pay it. Some the dogs remain caged up and up care for. It is all about money not the warfare of the dogs and that is animal mistreatment. Give them away to loving homes. They came there free give them away free.

  6. I have no problem signing this petition but I had to look up the facts myself. There is no name of the so-called shelter or the owner or any background to the petition. Please include a newspaper article or specifics, otherwise I don’t know how potential signers or the governor’s office is going to know what we are talking about. Thank you.–381910921.html

  7. The shelter director MUST be replaced at once……he or she is the one who makes the important decisions….if there was not enough money for food available, it was up to him/ her to go to the city council and demand help……..or hold a fund raiser… SOMETHING other than letting these animals die.
