Target: John S. Leonardo, U.S. District Attorney for Arizona
Goal: Punish those responsible for leaving a dog out on a hot patio to die.
A dog died after he was left on a patio in dangerously hot weather. With no access to shade or water, he slowly overheated. Demand justice for this innocent dog.
The one-year-old chocolate lab’s paws burned so badly that he could not walk, witnesses report. He also had no water available to him. Neighbors tried desperately to save the dying dog but were unable to intervene in time. Privacy laws prevented the police from breaking down the door and firefighters were unable to reach him in time.
This isn’t the first time that the owners have been accused of neglect. Neighbors claim that the dog was left on the patio all of the time and barked nonstop. Sign below and demand the maximum penalty for the owners, if convicted.
Dear District Attorney Leonardo,
A dog is dead, reportedly due to the outright neglect of his owners. The one-year-old chocolate lab died after being left on a hot patio with no shade or water. We demand the maximum sentence for those convicted in this case.
The dog’s paws burned so badly that he was unable to walk. With no shade to protect him from the sun and no water to cool him down, he slowly roasted to death. Neighbors, police, and firefighters tried their best to save him, but were unable to intervene in time.
This dog died because his owners neglected their responsibility to keep him safe. This is unacceptable. We demand that you charge the owners with felony animal cruelty and assign the maximum penalty, if convicted.
