Target: Brian Schuman, President of Fair Productions, Inc.
Goal: End the cruel monkey rodeo occurring at the Brookhaven Fair.
An abusive monkey rodeo is being featured at this summer’s Brookhaven Fair. The fair is an annual occurrence meant to entertain families, and this year the Banana Derby monkey rodeo will be in attendance.
In monkey rodeos, a capuchin monkey is forced into a costume and tied to a dog while the dog runs a track. The dog is trained to make sudden starts and stops and can reach up to speeds of 30 miles per hour. These monkeys are jerked around and face a serious risk of injury.
Sign this petition to demand that the Brookhaven Fair ceases to host the Banana Derby and stops contributing to this animal abuse.
Dear Mr. Schuman
Your company sets up and sponsors the Brookhaven Fair in New York. This year the Banana Derby, a company that holds monkey rodeos, will be in attendance.
During monkey rodeos, a capuchin monkey is forced into a costume and strapped to a dog while the dog runs around a track. The dog is trained to make sudden starts and stops; this causes the monkey to be jerked around in every direction possible. There is very high risk of injury and the experience is terrifying for these monkeys.
Please do not host the Banana Derby. The event is cruel and unnecessary. Animals should not be forced into scary situations for the entertainment of people.
