Target: Kathleen Kane, Attorney General of Pennsylvania
Goal: Seek maximum penalty for man who allegedly neglected horses so badly that they had to be euthanized.
Almost a dozen horses were reportedly found in a barn where they’d been neglected for so long that five of them had to be euthanized. Other horses were reportedly strung up by rope and suspended from the barn ceiling because they were unable to stand due to their hooves being over a foot long. Animal rescuers say that it takes years for a horse’s hooves to grow this long. Their feet had become so painful that they were incapable of standing, so the owner allegedly decided to hang them from the ceiling instead of trimming their hooves.
This is a deplorable case of animal cruelty and neglect, and there’s no excuse for it. These poor, innocent animals suffered all because their owner couldn’t bother to properly care for them. Sign this petition to urge authorities to seek the maximum penalty against the owner.
Dear Attorney General Kane,
Five horses reportedly had to be euthanized because they were kept in such poor conditions that their health had deteriorated. Other horses were reportedly found hanging from the barn ceiling because their hooves had grown over a foot long, making it too painful for them to stand.
This is a disgusting case of animal cruelty, and there’s no excuse for allowing horses to deteriorate to such horrific, painful conditions. We urge you to seek the maximum penalty for the owner who allegedly neglected these poor animals.
