Target: Connie Braun, Owner of Missouri Primate Foundation
Goal: Retire all the chimpanzees at allegedly neglectful breeding facility to a reputable sanctuary.
The Missouri Primate Foundation (MPF) is a former chimpanzee breeding facility that still holds 17 chimpanzees according to public records. MPF has reportedly been cited numerous times by the USDA for letting trash build up, not cleaning the cages, and for not providing enough environmental stimuli for the chimpanzees’ physical and psychological needs.
Chimpanzees are highly intelligent animals who live in large social packs and travel many miles a day in the wild. These animals do not belong cramped up in small, dirty cages to be used for human entertainment. Sign this petition and demand the facility is shut down and that the remaining chimpanzees are retired to an accredited sanctuary where they can happily live out the rest of their days among friends and nature.
Dear Ms. Braun,
According to public records, your facility currently holds 17 chimpanzees. Although you no longer breed the chimpanzees, these animals remain in your care. The care you have been providing has not been the best for the chimpanzees’ physical and mental health. The USDA has cited your facility several times due to a lack of cleanliness and for not providing adequate enrichment for the chimpanzees physically and psychologically.
Please consider retiring your remaining chimpanzees to an accredited sanctuary where they can live how nature intended. They can swing through trees and socialize with many other chimpanzees. If you truly love these animals, then you know what is best for them.
