Success: Mexican Gray Wolves Protected From Extinction

Target: Earthjustice Attorney Tim Preso

Goal: Praise requirement of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to prepare a recovery plan to save Mexican gray wolves.

Thanks in part to petitions like ForceChange’s “Don’t Let Mexican Gray Wolves Disappear Forever,” the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be required to prepare a long-delayed recovery plan for Mexican gray wolves by the end of next year.

Just 97 Mexican gray wolves existed in the wild at the end of last year, classifying these innocent animals as near extinction and as one of the most endangered creatures in North America. Thanks to the community’s work, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service must take action to save these wolves from extinction.

Earthjustice, a non-profit public interest law organization dedicated to environmental issues, filed a lawsuit a few years back to challenge the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s long-time delay in coming up with a plan to save the Mexican gray wolf from extinction.

By signing this petition, you’ll help to celebrate this win for protecting animals and saving the Mexican gray wolf from extinction.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Preso,

You recently worked on a lawsuit against the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for taking decades to come up with a plan to save the Mexican gray wolf from extinction. The case has now been settled and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be required to come up with a plan to save these beautiful creatures.

It’s our responsibility to protect the animals who share this world with us and ensure that they are around for centuries to come. Thank you for taking a stand for Mexican gray wolves and taking action to make sure they’re saved from extinction.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

This is some good news to hear. And also a step in the right direction. But there’s still a lot work to do. The future of Mexican Gray Wolves are still at stake. And they need our help. They are essential. We must stand strong for our wildlife and by taking action of saving them from near extinction.

MISSION OF THE U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: “The mission of the agency is “working with others to CONSERVE, PROTECT, and ENHANCE FISH, WILDLIFE, PALNTS and their HABITATS for the continuing benefit of the American people.”

“U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to prepare a recovery plan to save Mexican gray wolves.”
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO “PREPARE A RECOVERY”???????????
    A couples of months????????????? Years??????????????
Let’s keep on keeping an eye on director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, DANIEL M. ASHE, of Maryland to see HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE.

  5. Great News!!!Thank you to everyone who helped this happen!!

We must stay alert and keep an eye on the FWS and everyone else involved and make sure that these agencies do what they should do not what they want to do!!

They work for us the public and we the public want wildlife to thrive and survive not to be shot, poisoned and die by the hands of those paid to save them.

    The whole country is watching!!!

Why do we as United States citizens have to impose lawsuits against the US Fish and Wildlife, the USDA, etcetera. It’s pitiful OUR government wants to kill all endangered species, Vilsack, head of agriculture could care less about farm animals, big AG money is what he gets,it is a pitiful embarrassing system. I PAY for this?
