Target: Nicole Oria, Executive Director, Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners
Goal: Permanently revoke the license of a veterinarian who admitted to shooting a feral cat with a bow and arrow.
Dr. Kristen Lindsey is accused of killing a cat with a bow and arrow and posting about it on Facebook. Although criminal charges were dismissed, she admits that she shot feral cat because she thought it had rabies wanted to protect her own animals. Dr. Lindsey was fired from her job and is now facing a hearing before the Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners to determine if she should be allowed to keep her license and continue to practice veterinary medicine.
Pet owners place a lot of trust in their veterinarians and the Board questions how Dr. Lindsey’s actions reflect on the entire profession–one which is intended to care for animals and uses euthanasia only as a last resort. They do not advocate the blatant murder of pets such as the actions of which Dr. Lindsey is accused.
Demand her license is revoked and she not be allowed to work around animals in the future.
Dear Ms. Oria,
Dr. Kristen Lindsey admits she fatally shot a feral cat with a bow and arrow and posted about it on Facebook. Although the criminal charges were dismissed, she has been fired from her job and is now facing revocation of her license.
As loving pet owners, we demand that Dr. Lindsey’s license is revoked and that she is barred from future work with animals.
