Target: Mark L. McHenry, Director of Kansas City Parks and Recreation
Goal: Cancel UniverSoul Circus’s performance at Swope Park in Kansas City.
UniverSoul Circus is planning a performance in Kansas City. The company has a history of working with alleged animal abusers and currently works with a big cat trainer who has been cited for not giving enough space and for not giving enough time for exercise. The large cats were allegedly held in small cages for 24 hours, seven days a week.
In addition, UniverSoul travels with two elephants who have yielded several reactive tuberculosis tests. This puts the surrounding animals and people in danger of contracting a deadly illness.
Sign this petition and demand UniverSoul’s performance is cancelled unless it drops its animal acts.
Dear Mr. McHenry,
Kansas City Parks and Recreation is allowing UniverSoul Circus to perform at Swope Park. UniverSoul has a history of working with alleged animal abusers.
The circus currently works with a large cat trainer who allegedly kept his animals in too-small cages for 24 hours, seven days a week. This is absolutely atrocious behavior and it should not be accepted. In addition, the circus also travels with two elephants who have had positive tuberculosis tests. This puts the surrounding community and animals at risk of contracting a deadly illness.
Please consider canceling UniverSoul’s performance unless they take out the animal acts. No animal should suffer for human entertainment.
