Justice for Goslings Shot With Pellet Rifle

Target: John Hummel, Deschutes County, Oregon District Attorney

Goal: Punish man accused of shooting a pellet rifle at a family of geese on the Meadow Golf Course.

According to police reports, Joseph Seever, a maintenance worker at Meadow Golf Course, fired an air rifle at a family of geese on a pond, killing one and wounding another. Police were able to transport the injured gosling to a wildlife rescue where it is expected to make a full recovery. Further investigation showed that Seever’s employer, Sunriver Lodge, had no knowledge of his actions. Seever’s rifle was confiscated and he was ordered to appear at Deschutes County Court.

Sign the petition below to demand Seever is charged with animal abuse and any related charges and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Dear Attorney Hummel,

A family of geese providing serenity to patrons of the Meadow Golf Course had one of its members brutally taken away and another injured when Joseph Seever allegedly shot them with an air rifle. The injured gosling is expected to recover and hopefully return to its family. Seever’s air rifle was taken into evidence and he was ordered to appear before the court.

We demand Seever is prosecuted for all relevant charges and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

If there was a place to comment to the district attorney, I would have said just that.
